Networking Lunch at 12pm
Lathrop E. Smith Environmental Education Center - 5110 Meadowside Lane, Rockville, MD 20855
This 4 hour session is an opportunity for sharing new ideas, challenges, and best practices. It will also provide networking opportunities to promote environmental literacy and outdoor experiences for children across the state.
The Smith Center is the main campus and home of the offices of the Montgomery County Public Schools' (MCPS) Outdoor and Environmental Education Programs (OEEP); the principal buildings were constructed in 1974. The Smith Center is located in the middle of Montgomery County, nestled completely within the boundaries of the Rock Creek Regional Park: OEEP makes daily use of the Park's 450 acres of rolling hills for explorations and investigations. The Smith Center property includes dorms for 170 students and staff, a planetarium with a 14' dome, an observatory, an observation tower, and a confidence course. Weather permitting, all will be open for those staying at the Smith Center on Thursday night, February 10, 2011!
