| End of year Challenge to increase the MAEOE Endowment!! A close friend of MAEOE has issued a challenge at the December Board meeting. For each NEW gift to the Endowment, whatever the dollar figure of the donation, the friend will add $100 to your pledge for 2017. Checks must indicate that the gift is for the endowment and MUST be dated by 12/31/17. Gifts of appreciated securities are most welcome and timely given changes to the tax law coming into effect in 2018. MAEOE ENDOWMENT HISTORY: The Endowment was begun through a gift in November 2016. As of December 21, 2017, the market value of the endowment stands at $10,698, and has grown around 10% this year. ENDOWMENT MANAGEMENT: The endowment is managed by the MAEOE Finance Committee, it is invested in environment-sensitive securities. Dividends, which average over 2.5%/year, are reinvested.
