MAEOE is working as a partner in the Mid-Atlantic Monarch Initiative (MAMI)
The Mid-Atlantic Monarch Initiative (MAMI) was formed to foster the collaboration and activate conservation initiatives through shared physical and education resources to increase Monarch habitat in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The goals of MAMI are to: educate the public about the Monarch Butterfly; propagate and increase the availability of milkweed species and pollinator species for restoration efforts; create and restore Monarch Butterfly habitat; inventory the existing milkweed populations; and create “no mow” zones.
